Personalized nuclear medicine – increasingly needed by patients
Radioisotope diagnostics and therapy in oncology, cardiology and endocrinology in the era of personalized medicine is the main theme of the XVI Scientific Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine. On May 23-26, 2018 in Szczecin, specialists from various fields will discuss the future of nuclear medicine in the study and treatment of increasingly common civilization diseases.
– Cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases, as well as endocrine disorders and conditions are among the most common diseases of the b civilization. The incidence of these diseases is growing. This is related to, among other things, an aging population, widespread unhealthy, sedentary lifestyles, poor nutrition and stress. Diagnosis and therapy of diseases b of civilization is a real challenge for clinicians , scientists , health system stakeholders, payer. How to ensure that all patients in need have access to modern, effective and safe methods of diagnosis and treatment with nuclear medicine procedures, i.e. with the use of preparative in radioisotopic? What are these methods, how to implement and use them in the era of personalized medicine? – asks prof. Leszek Kr licki, President of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine, national consultant in this field of medicine. The aforementioned issues will be discussed at the 16th Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine.
The 16th Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine will present clinical achievements and scientific reports in radioisotope diagnostics and therapy in the era of personalized medicine. The conference program included issues in nuclear medicine and related fields. Scheduled presentations, panel discussions and practical training and workshop sessions in the field of nuclear medicine.
The main theme of this year’s congress is personalized medicine, aimed at giving the right drug to the right patient at the right time. – Personalized medicine is not only a growing trend, but increasingly the present in the diagnosis and treatment of the most common diseases b, such as cardiovascular diseases, oncological diseases
and endocrinological. Diagnostic and therapeutic methods from the palette of nuclear medicine are effective, safe and increasingly the most comfortable for the patient – in por In comparison with other, more invasive alternative techniques – m i prof. Bożena Birkenfeld, chairwoman of the Organizing Committee of the 16th Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine.
– Precision medicine, in the context of personalized nuclear medicine, is the precise selection of zar no appropriate radiopharmaceutical preparation, as well as its dosage to the needs of the individual patient. The participants of the Congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine will present their achievements and the latest scientific reports in this field. Precision nuclear medicine is a rapidly developing field. Theranostics, dosimetry are no longer amazing theoretical innovations – are techniques that allow us clinicians, here and now, to select precise doses of preparation in radioisotopic treatment to the needs of specific patients The most important is to share experience and dialogue with stakeholders in the field and individual medical indications – notes prof. Kr licki.
– The congress of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine is a unique opportunity to hear lectures by outstanding experts from home and abroad, which ers will share with participants important reports from their centers in this regard. It is worth drawing on the global experience of centers In the reference medical centers, although also our Polish medical community The Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine has in this field no small merit. It is gratifying that we are able to share ln order to exchange experiences and inspire each other – adds prof. Kr licki.
During the XVI Scientific Congress, experts of the Polish Society of Nuclear Medicine will discuss the future of this field of medicine. – Nuclear medicine is a field with enormous potential – zar n the scope of the growing societal needs in the context of procedures in the field of diagnostic and therapeutic chor b civilization, as well as the tremendous dynamics of scientific development. Increasingly accurate nuclear imaging, latest capabilities for precise examination of organ function in and tissues, increasing safety, efficacy and comfort of treatments for patients in make wsp lna expert discussion in The complexity of this field is growing. The challenge in the context of nuclear medicine procedures is to ensure access to them for all those in need of radioisotope diagnostics and therapy for – always, after all, limited – means In the framework of the health care budget. It is worth discussing optimal financing of nuclear medicine, formal and legal regulations, educational and awareness activities directed to doctors and patients. As the medical community In nuclear medicine, we are convinced that wsp interdisciplinary cooperation between the medical community in Poland It is worth discussing the optimal financing of nuclear medicine Cooperation and dialogue with stakeholders in a meaningful way b will translate into better medical care for Polish patients. Nuclear medicine has good and effective diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for them, so it is undoubtedly worth investing in it – concludes prof. Leszek Kr licki.
